Ashley Higginson has excelled at every level of competition since taking up running. In 2006 as a senior at Colts Neck HS Ashley won the Nike XC Nationals individual title and one week later earned All America honors with a top 25 finish at the Footlocker National XC Championships. Her 17:49.2 mark on the historic Holmdel Park course ranks as #9 All Time!
After a highly successful collegiate career at Princeton University where she earned All America honors , Higginson embarked on a professional career that has been marked by a Gold Medal in the 3000m Steeplechase with a Meet Record at the 2015 Pan American Games.
Ashley still resides in New Jersey and is a practicing attorney, still training and competing.
Kurt Wayton – Also a native Jerser, Kurt Wayton has been involved in the sport for 30 years. He began his career at Mainland Reg. HS in southern New Jersey where he and his identical twin brother Geoff became two of the top runners in the state.
Coach Wayton earned an athletic scholarship to Indiana State University, where he was seven times All Missouri Valley First Team and an All Region NCAA First Team member. After graduating from Indiana State Kurt and his brother were chosen to take part in a scientific study conducted by the United States Olympic Committee. This opportunity exposed the Waytons to some of the best exercise science minds on earth.
For the past 17 years Coach Wayton has been a high school educator and Cross Country / distance events coach. His athletes have enjoyed a wide range of success at all levels. Kurt and his family reside in Allentown NJ.
